This is a selection of nice restaurants, with high culinary standards and ambitions, or just a specific and personal atmosphere.
They are all located in the old town of Visby, just 1 to 6 minutes pleasant walk from the Medieval Hotel (Medeltidshotellet). And, to tell you the truth, you might encounter one or five of our staff at any of these establishments, we just would´nt dream of suggesting them if we did´nt like them ourself!
Things you might need to know: Smoking indoor is prohibited in Sweden, and restaurant staff do not really expect tip – even if they are very happy to receive it! However a common treat is that you tip if you are pleased with the service you received.
We recommend you to make table reservations. If you need help, our staff will be happy to assist. (Most of our listed restaurants are closed Sundays, however NOT during summer.)
There are several restaurants of various standard in Visby - around fifty opened all year around. Stated above are only our personal favourites.
All over Gotland there are around eighty establishments with restaurants/bars/cafés, however most of them are opened during June - August. Therefore you might plan your excursion with picnic or by localizing what is opened in the neighbourhood your visiting.
