Our double bed rooms are stylish and nice, located in the 18th century part of the hotel, with historically inspired interiors.
All our rooms have luxurious beds from Swedish Carpe Diem and designed bed gables in wood or hand forged iron, set with 100 percent cotton and fluffy down comforters. Especially designed furniture. We do have tv and wifi, however, we tried to hide it…
When someone asks about “the nicest room” we quote “Ok, The Italian envoy ´s room is the largest, and the Maidens Chamber that is not haunted is the smallest – so it´s real easy; they are all nice, yet unlike.
When entering the rooms it is quiet, calm. The thick limestone walls are plastered and coloured in a sun burnt brick shade, Naples yellow and light blue. In some rooms the original limestone is visible. Floors are made from natural Gotlandic pine wood and oiled to a clean, soft surface that encourages to walk barefoot. Bathrooms are modern and tiled with granite clinker and mosaic or Italian tile, they all have shower and wc, yet the Theme rooms have comfortable bath tubs.
At some occasions we almost have to persuade our guests to leave their rooms, get some air, food and have a glimpse of the beautiful town of Visby. You see, an often heard comment is; “our room is so nice so we don ´t want to leave it!”. It almost sounds familiar with the sentence “you can leave, but you can never check out”. By chance, we do have many returning guests.
Look at the pictures and loose yourself into dreams of staying at The Medieval Hotel in Visby, Gotland - the largest island in The Baltic Sea.
